Lara Trump Claims President Has a Speech Ready on Extraterrestrial Life

EARTH, Laniakea Supercluster—Lara Trump, the US president’s daughter-in-law and wife of Eric Trump, has ignited a firestorm of speculation after claiming that President Donald Trump has a pre-written speech about extraterrestrial life that he intends to deliver when the moment is right.

Speaking on the New York Post’s “Pod Force One” podcast this week, Lara Trump told host Miranda Devine that the president has been evasive when family members have pressed him on what he knows about UFOs and alien life.

“We’ve kind of asked my father-in-law about this,” she said, regarding her and her husband attempts to get answers from the president. According to Lara, the president’s guarded responses left the couple feeling there was more to the story than he was letting on, alleging “he played a little coy with us.”

“I’ve heard kind of around, I think my father-in-law has actually said it, that there is some speech that he has, that I guess at the right time, I don’t know when the right time is, he’s going to break out and talk about and it has to do with maybe some sort of extraterrestrial life,” she said.

The president’s daughter-in-law didn’t know what the timeline for that speech might look like, but suggested it could come sooner rather than later. Lara described herself as a "numbers person" and said it would be "pretty wild" to think we're alone in the universe. Still, she was careful to distance herself from having any insider knowledge, saying, "I don't have any information. I feel like there might be information out there, and hopefully it's going to be able to be told to all of us very soon."

Her remarks came on the heels of former President Barack Obama’s viral comments last weekend on the “No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen” podcast, in which he stated that extraterrestrials exist, but with the caveat that he hadn’t personally seen them and that they aren’t being kept at Area 51.

“There’s no underground facility unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States,” Obama said.

The former president later walked back the statement even further in an Instagram post, clarifying that it reflected his personal belief rather than classified knowledge gained during his presidency.

“Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there,” said Obama. “But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!”

When asked about Lara Trump’s claims at a White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the existence of such a speech was “news to me.” She added lightheartedly that she would need to check in with the speechwriting team, and that such an address “that would be of great interest to me personally, and I’m sure all of you in this room and apparently former President Obama, too.”

Lara Trump’s comments lend a degree of family-level credibility to claims that have been circulating online for weeks. British filmmaker and ufologist Mark Christopher Lee has been posting on X since early January that a Trump administration insider told him the president has already drafted a historic disclosure speech. He even alleged that the disclosure speech was tentatively planned for July 8, 2026—the 79th anniversary of the Roswell incident.

Lee has also claimed on X that other UFO researchers received the same insider information but chose not to go public, writing that he did so despite ridicule because the public deserves the truth. Critics have questioned Lee’s claims and openly question why a revelation of this magnitude would be leaked to a UK filmmaker who may have a commercial interest in the topic.

While it’s unclear if Lara Trump’s recent statements truly lend some credence to Lee, if nothing else, they have added momentum to the UAP/UFO topic, which had already gained significant traction in recent years. Public congressional hearings in 2023, 2024, and 2025 featured military whistleblowers and journalists testifying about alleged government activities ranging from crash retrieval programs to UFO sightings. Still, even if these hearings brought renewed attention to the issue, they provided little firm proof. As well, a Pentagon report in March 2024 pushed back on claims that the government had reverse-engineered alien spacecraft or was concealing extraterrestrial materials.

Regardless, speculation about a presidential speech continues to swirl, fueled by Obama’s comments, Lara Trump’s teaser, and Lee’s persistent claims. Together, they have ensured that questions about what the US government knows regarding life beyond Earth remain alive in the public imagination—offering a glimmer of hope for answers, even if skepticism is certainly still warranted.
