EARTH, Laniakea Supercluster—Is a real live Venom on the loose?
What began as a viral spectacle on TikTok has escalated into
a public notice from Panama’s Parque Natural Metropolitano (Metropolitan Natural Park), telling people to stay away from a restricted area and to beware of sensational claims involving extraterrestrials.
Over the past two weeks, a series of posts by a TikTok user known as
@kinpanama have ignited global attention. Kin posted videos of what he claimed was a discovered meteorite, first sort of looking like a small silver rock or potato. Soon, subsequent videos showed the entity seemingly hatching and oozing green gel, then growing into a black, organic-looking mass that pulses and writhes. Viewers quickly dubbed the slimy, tentacled entity creature “Venom,” of course referencing Marvel’s most outlandish alien symbiote.
At first glance, the visuals look ripped from a sci-fi style horror flick. Some clips show the organism allegedly confined inside a locked safe, others claim to be shot after Kin released it into a body of water.
K25, whatever it is, is currently whereabouts unknown.
However, experts have pointed to far more terrestrial explanations. One of the more widely circulated counter-theories involves polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), a silicone polymer commonly used in labs and special effects. Research has shown that PDMS swells dramatically when exposed to organic solvents like hexane and then contracts as the solvent evaporates, creating unpredictable, jerky deformations.
Another explanation comes from the world of fungi. Mycologists have noted the resemblance between the footage and Clathrus archeri, commonly called “Devil’s Fingers.” Native to Australia but spread widely across Europe and beyond, the fungus grows inside a spore-filled “egg” and then erupts into red, tentacle-like arms coated in a foul-smelling slime to attract flies.
But the periodic updates and constant reposting by Kin Panama created a firestorm on TikTok, with creators following his every movement, along with those of the a supposedly growing entity that he affectionately named K25. His occasionally frantic updates, one of which claiming strange people were watching his house and looking for “interviews.” In an odd appearance, he popped up one the comedic streamer called Secret Service Sam, denying claims it was a fraud and saying he didn’t want to expose where he worked and lived.
In Panama City, the spectacle gained so much social traction that it forced the Parque Natural Metropolitano to act. On September 24, 2025, the park issued a public statement denying any extraterrestrial activity on its grounds. The park clarified that Bunker 1002, the location featured in many of the TikToks where K25 was allegedly released, is closed to the public and access is restricted. The statement called the viral content a “fictional narrative created by the user” and urged people not to enter off-limits zones or propagate misleading content.
“The park administration was categorical: there are no extraterrestrial creatures, nor meteorite falls… the Bunker 1002 area is completely restricted.” the park said.
Many questions linger with some speculating an orchestrated hoax, while others worry Venom is on the loose. Whether this meteorite creature is a cleverly designed hoax, a fungal curiosity, or—however unlikely—a genuine anomaly, Earth is experiencing something viral.
