EARTH, Laniakea Supercluster—Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, the Florida congresswoman leading a high-profile Congressional task force, has stirred headlines with her extraordinary claims in a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Not only did she describe having seen classified materials regarding objects that she believes “have not been created by mankind,” but she also cited ancient texts like the Book of Enoch in drawing parallels for phenomena that may defy human understanding.
“Well, they call them interdimensional beings. I think that they can actually operate through the time spaces that we currently have.”
Luna told Rogan in her first in-depth interview about UAP since investigating the matter as a part of the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets.
Luna, who’s chaired the task force since its inception in February 2025, said the classified evidence she’s personally reviewed portrays technologies that “is definitely something that I think would rival what we know currently with physics,” likening the shock it might engender in a past era to how a caveman might react to a modern smartphone.
“Without getting into classified conversations, there have been incidences where I believe very credible people have reported that there have been movements outside of time and space.”
Her interest in unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs)—formerly known as UFOs—stems not from speculation but from personal experience as a member of the U.S. Air Force. She joined the U.S. Air Force at age 19 and later served as an airfield manager at various bases, earning an Air Force Achievement Medal before her honorable discharge in 2014. While serving as an airfield manager at the Portland Air National Guard Base, she was present during an unusual “airspace incursion.”
“I remember kind of talking to some of the pilots about it and I was like, ‘What was that?’ and they were like, ‘Ehhh, we can’t really talk about it,’” Luna recounted on the podcast. “No one really wanted to address it, and so from what I gathered, that had likely been a UAP.”
“It had outperformed them,” she added, noting that one pilot seemed visibly disturbed and feared repercussions, perhaps even a loss of flight status, if he spoke openly about what he saw.
Ancient Texts and Modern Mysteries: The Book of Enoch
Luna also invoked ancient religious literature to frame the phenomena she’s describing. Referencing the apocryphal Book of Enoch—long omitted from many mainstream biblical canons but preserved in Ethiopian Orthodox tradition—she suggested that some descriptions in those ancient writings may echo what we now label as UAPs.
“I talks about the fall of angels. Thus creating really the precursor of civilization that led to the first flood. I think that when you even go into potentially the technology that was given to mankind by these angels, it talks about the hidden beliefs and theories in astronomy, etc, metal working, all of it.”
She referred to it as “kind of the OG text that leads to those stories that we’re hearing from many religions around the world” of divine beings interacting with humans—a possible progenitor of modern UFO narratives.
The Book of Enoch, an apocalyptic work attributed to the biblical patriarch Enoch written prior to the birth of Christ, has long been fertile ground for ancient alien theorists. The text describes "Watchers"—celestial beings who descend to Earth, impart advanced knowledge to humanity, and produce hybrid offspring known as the Nephilim. Some proponents of ancient alien theories interpret these passages as evidence of early contact between humans and extraterrestrial visitors, suggesting that the Watchers were not merely spiritual entities but technologically advanced beings from other worlds or dimensions.
Classified Evidence, Security Stigma, and Calls for Transparency
Luna emphasized that her claims are not speculative musings but rooted in classified information and credible testimony. “And that’s not something that I came up with on my own. That’s based on stuff that we’ve seen. That’s based on information that we’ve been told,” she said.
Rogan pushed back at one point, calling the claims “vague.” Luna concurred to an extent, hoping that sometime soon the general public could see this evidence for themselves.
“I would like to see the federal government roll out some of the stuff that we’ve been given access to because I think that that information belongs in the hands of the American people.”
Luna’s remarks come amid increasing interest in UAPs from the U.S. public and lawmakers. Her position on the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets gives her a rare platform from which to push for transparency.
